Saw it in it's new location, and condition, last weekend.  It sure looks great.  Was this "original" Ironton?  Or was it built as an LV caboose and trasferred to the Ironton (I guess this because of the round end window, which I remember to be typical of LV cabeeses).

I'm not sure that it's original LV. There aren't any "window weeps" or windows on the ends that are normally on a LV caboose.

The Ironton's 3 steel "northeastern" style cabooses  came from the Reading Railroad .... These were numbered 6, 8 (first) and 8 (second)

 8. (second): Was an Ex Reading NmJ caboose. It survived to be used by Conrail. Whereabouts unknown and likely scrapped

 8. ( first): Ex Reading NmF class #90723 and was built 9-9-1927. It was retired by the Ironton and sold to the Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg PA . It is unit #20 and ( last time i was there) was painted for the Lehigh Valley

 6.  Ex Reading NmD caboose #90738,built in August of 1924. It is the second oldest surviving Reading steel caboose known..
