A photo of Ma&Pa NW2 #81 in York PA from a visit in 1977:
Ma & Pa historical society website:
History page relates that the Ma&Pa route was 77 miles, to connect Baltimore and York, 45 miles apart.  Passenger trains took 4 hours to cover the distance.

I remember the first time I saw boxcars from the "Ma & Pa". The Conrail (ex-DL&W) freight station in Baldwinsville, NY had 4 of them parked there.I don't know why they were there, the station had only been used to store a spare brake hose etc there for many years by then. I also don't know if they stayed for an extended period of time or if new ones were brought in periodically for a local customer. My memory recalls seeing them there for at least a few months though
I sure did think that black paint scheme and logo with the star looked cool!
