I was, however, able to locate #17's page on SteamLocomotive.info. It has some nice photos of her in service (in Bonsal, NC), as well as some specs and a detailed history in the "Notes" section. I highly recommend you check it out for further information (click LINK URL ). Hope this helps!

Wade,

The WVN brochure doesn't contain any information about #17, but it does have several interesting pictures of her posing with the railroad's diesel switchers (does anyone know where they ended up?). Here is a scan of the front cover of the brochure.

Wheeling was an amazing railroad city. If you want some good pictures of Wheeling, you should buy Morning Sun`s B&O Steam Locomotives Vol 1. There`s some great pictures in Wheeling and in Benwood Jct WV.   It`s so hard to believe that Wheeling was such an amazing B&O railroad town.

WB col train N 67330. This train had to stop just short of the crossing
becausae the signals were going into code failure from here to
Cotton Hill. The dispatcher gave them the go ahead past the stop
signal after handthrowing the switch. The engineer gave
me two quick toots and rang the bell. When he started moving
from a standstill you should have heard the slack in the train.
It was very loud.!!!!!

Me and my wife are going through the information slowly, as I get information I will post pictures and information. On back of this picture it says Hinton Train Station around 1900 Hinton WV. Can anybody confirm this is the old Hinton Train Station around 1900"s. Thanks Curtis

Here is a series of pictures of a old coal mine unloading facility along the NS secondary line about 15 miles south of Point Pleasant in the town of Leon WV.From what information I gathered  this mine was open in the mid to late 60"s for a couple years. I don"t know if they loaded onto railroad cars. The belt line to the mine is still there it runs for about 5 to 6 miles through the country. Its visable along a county road called Tribble Road. If anybody has any addition information I would like to hear from you. I think the owners were Union Carbide. Thanks Curtis

"detector malfunction", "dragging equipment". They told the
train not to worry they were working on the SAD and they looked

Some more KRT. I posted these in photography section under "Thousand Units"

#1100 and 1200. Interesting enough is, I saw a train coming in the distance and crossed the track for the light and the curve. The away shot was the ticket here. No crossing lights on yet. As I set up the lights go on and this train pulls up in the siding completely blocking the CSX that goes by. Not what I wanted but the away shot is still pretty cool. I think.

Mystery Car in Huntington - By chessie8212 on 06/07/05 at 14:05:25 - 'huntingtonmapcar.jpg' 157 KB
My brother and I visited Huntington a couple weeks ago for the first time ever.  And while driving along the river, we spotted a spur line that looks like it ran to a small yard on the river near the floodwall.  Near that spur, right behind a few small trees, we spotted an old passenger car.  Anyone know anything about it?

Here's a map with it's location pointed out.

Heres some pictures of the old Foote & mineral Plant in New Haven,WV about 15 miles north of Point Pleasant. The old tracks leading to the plant are going to be updated with new track and ties to bring in raw materials to the plant. The first picture is looking back toward New Haven at the Philph Sporn Plant, to the main line of the Ohio River Sub.  I didn't know if this was the right forum to get in for these pictures? Masquerading as "Southern #604", BC&G 2-8-0 No. 4 is currently under restoration at NCTM at Spencer, NC. She may be the locomotive with her smokebox door open in the previous pic.

Here she is minus smokebox, flues, and cab; resting beside N&W GP9 No. 620.
