I saw a large brace of equipment just north of the Allegheny river bridge this morning at ~07:30.  I thought it may have been a rail grinder.  Anyone else see it?

That's because TWO of the Conneaut engines are in Greenville! SD38 862 is STILL undergoing repairs in the shops and 868 is here also, probably for a FRA inspection.

I went to Albion yard today, to try and catch the southbound train that I heard recieving track clearance on the scanner. I was suprised to see how much more of the yard had been dismantled since the last time I was there. I must say though, It was great to hear the 3 EMD's "growling" in the distance for over twenty minutes! I was just happy to see it was all still black and orange.

Nice pics OCLTALCO!
I have seen a few. Here are a few that I can show you guys....
SD38AC 868 at the shops Wed.

SD38-3 866 sanding on out of Kremis today. She was headed to Butler to replace 867.

I caught this about a week ago. Two at KY! You can obviously see 902 S coming up the lowline with the scrap train, but if you look to the right on the highline you will see the headlights of the 908 S that will be taking the siding at Kremis. I have only seen a meet at KY twice, both this year though.

I cant let this forum make its way to the back pages. A little update for any Bessy fans.... Major track repair is being done this summer. Several new switches and a great deal of tie replacement. Also CN is running 4 trains a day now..... Much shorter trains, but on somewhat of a set sched. 909, 903 are still the only units off the system. and the 38s are being let out of the pen and doing some main line turns!

It's been awhile since we've talked about our beloved B&LE. here are some updates.
   1. as far as I know 3 SD38s are together currently
    2. on May 10 2009 it'll be the 5th aniversary of the takeover.
The B&LE no longer hauls coal for now estimates believe 2010 it may come back .  U.S. Steel has brought both Blast Furnaces back in opearation at Braddock. They still haul Limestone, and switch many small industries such as chemical, and lumber. At Greenville the shops are still there on a low level of activity. The KO line is still inuse I've seen many trains there lately.

As  far as preservation not to much. There have been talks about 2-10-4 # 643 in a local society. CN has done some work on maintenance. Also, many B&LE hoppers have some CN marks on them and some do crossing gates, boxes, etc. The dispatch is now CN.

Hope this helps anyone curious
