The last before we head out for the day. Looking west from C2013 in the house. We had 4 full coaches and 3 caboose charters on both trips. with nice but cold weather.

It is very tight in the engine house. with the PRSL car in service something (currently 98 ) has to be kept in the back shop.

Thanks again Kent for the invaluable insight you give us to the W&W. It' interesting that the W&W keeps their coaches inside. No other tourist line I've heard of does that. RRs like the NH&I and the WK&S have LESS cars than the W&W, yet theirs are kept outside. Well I guess it saves a bundle on paint !

WOW those shots are super! I am thinking I should go to the W&W next year too. So the W&W keeps everything inside. I like it more RR's should do that.

Hey Kent,

Thanks for the updates and pics. I was going to try and make it down to the W&W by the end of this year but things just didn't work out well.  I was really hoping I could see the newer sections of the line, but I'll just go in 2007.

Again, thanks for posting.

Thank Tom Marshall and his father Clarence and the other founding members for having the foresight to build and then extend the Marshallton Shop back in the 60's.

To build something similar today would cost a fortune not only for materials and land, but in terms of building codes etc.

This shop building is the reason why most of the in service quipment is in the shape it is...the coaches for example have only had 2 paint jobs since the Railroad Started in 1966....thats credited to the stuff being stored out of the weather.

Thursday night we had a charter dinner train. This was the longest train the RR has run in three years with 58, 4 coaches, the PRSL car, Caboose, and 114 on the rear.

Below is 98 in the back shop.

The train at Greenbank Station. I could not get any night shots as the fog set in very thick.

Great photos, Kent! Always nice to know what's happening behind the scenes. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Here are some photos from my visit during the Santa trains on December 10th. #58 was doing the honors. I apologize for the large file sizes on some of the photos. I experimented with compressing them, but found that the quality suffered as a result.

The bright sun behind the train and shadows from nearby trees can make photography conditions quite challenging, but it does make for some interesting silhoutte shots.

Seasonal decorations accent the lampposts as the festive sounds of Christmas carols are played over the loudspeakers.
