I just want to welcome everyone to this forum...This is for discussion of any Class 1 operations in and around the Buffalo Area...CSX Operations at Seneca, Frontier, Ohio Street, Niagara Falls and Kenmore.  NS Operations at Tifft St., Buffalo Junction Yard, Bison...CN/CP operations on this side of the border.  All are welcome...
 
What is YOUR favorite WNY spot to watch Class 1 action...  Draw, Tifft Street, Old Broadway, William Street??

.......favorite place........used to be old B/Way......now I work on Walden........& so EVERYDAY is "TRAIN WATCHIN"......& gittin' PAID too

I live in Pennsylvania, so I don't do much railfanning in Buffal, but back in the 70's , I liked to go to the Depew area and watch the Penn Central and EL operations. I recall EL Baldwin roadswitchers working somewhere in that area. If I get to occasional trainshows or model carshows  in that area, I like to stop at the Depew Amtrak depot.

My father was born and spent most of his childhood in Lancaster, 1907-1919. I believe the family lived on Central Ave. Judging from old maps, I can't begin to imagine what a hotbed of rail activity the area was then, or how Dad could possibly have avoided becoming a railfan. I've never been up to explore for myself, but one of these years...
