Greetings to all and Happy New Year

I just thought I would pass along a few photo's from our recent leg into Vancouver from Japser.

Train #1 was delayed in Kamloops over some electrical concerns with our lead end but due to the delay I was able to get a shot of the CPR trestle that crosses beneath us over the Fraser Canyon.

I quickly snapped these shots since most who travel this portion on VIA's train #1 or #2 are normal fast asleep and never see the beauty of this portion of the Fraser Canyon.

To bad the sun was not out, and I must say the savings grace when the crew experiences a delay like we experienced is reassuring those that some delays due have a silver lining like that of seeing the Fraser Canyon .

I added a couple of other shots from other legs completed and in time I will post a few more

Enjoy

I have a few more pictures of the canyon but for some reason I can not seem to add the others to this posting. So if someone could help talk me through how to do a multi picture attachment to this posting I would be more than pleased to share the photo's that I quickly snapped since most who travel this portion on VIA's train #1 or #2 are normal fast asleep and never see the beauty of this portion of the Fraser Canyon.

There can only be one photo uploaded in a single message. You can add as many replies as you want with another photo in each reply.

Even without much daylight it's still an impressive view. I hope you'll show us more.

It is hard to visualize but the drop to the Fraser River from the track bed is approx. 25 -30 metres. Conductor717

Great pictures 717, thanks.    I especially love that first shot of Frazier Canyon it's a classic, and the last one with the flying snow after the train.

Usually the engine sitting on this track will be leading the "Skeena" Service from Jasper, AB to Prince Rupert, BC.  Usually the "Skeena" consist is uncoupled from the unit and pluged into shore power (up to 4 cars- domes etc.)
