On our way home from Cluxewe RV park we stopped in Woss and heard some rumours. After getting home I e-mailed the company and this is what I got back.

Message  I am hearing rumours about the Woss Englewood operation being shut down. Are these rumours true and if so would you be receptive to an outside operation taking over and running an excursion train similar to what was happening years ago when our club rode behind your big Mikado?

Hello, this in follow-up to your email below from September Ė WFP announced yesterday the closure of the Englewood railway. At this time, we canít speculate what the community will want, but our commitment is to work closely with North Island communities and governments to decide what to do in regards to the future of the train and the railway, and what we can do safely within our operations.

So we are now officially in Limbo and with nothing to look forward to in Woss. I honestly think that a renewal of the Mikado pulled tourist train would not get anywhere near the ridership required to make this a viable option but I admit to being wrong occasionally. I too think I know someone who could possibly be interested in the line to run his equipment on. This hopefully will lead to a reemergence of rail in Woss.
