Why does SRY always seem to run two locos when the trains are never more than six cars in length?

Welcome to the board. Occasionally there is only 1 locomotive but mostly there is 2. I think it has something to do with having better visibility in both directions as the 2 locos are coupled together with the cab end facing out at each end.
