I was reading an article about UP on wikipedia and they said that a movie director was wanting to restore one of the big boys to operating condition for use in a movie. Has there been any word on that lately? cause that seems like it would shoot the movie budget before they could get to the actual shooting which is to say it would be a waste of time.

However, when the news of the proposed restoration of 4018 for a movie was announced back in 1998, some of us waited with hopeful anticipation. As it turned out, the news about restoring 4018 was only a proposal in its infancy and nothing ever materialized of it.

Waste of time indeed.

There is enough film available on the Big Boy to produce such a film, without actually using a real Big Boy. Some in color, some in B & W. And of course, if needed, the B & W film could be colored.

The Last of the Giants and many other films could be used to create a movie if money could be raised for the film.   My question is this.  Who would watch the movie except for us?  I don't believe it would make any money at the box office.
