This classic yard scene (snapped several years before the system was bombarded with a massive graffiti epidemic) shows a train of BRIGHTLINERS sharing yard space with several generations of IRT equipment; the oldest seen here are the Lo-V's, retired two years earlier.

Also, note work equipment.......

This photo, taken at the BMT's shabby Times Square station in 1970, is loaded with period details which give this old view a distinct nostalgic air.

Here we see BRIGHTLINER #3577 heading a Coney Island-bound "N" train (until 1967, when the Chrystie St. connection went into effect) this former BMT line was known as the "4-SEA BEACH EXPRESS", one of the more famous of New York's subway lines.

The classic signage and the vintage penny candy machine seen attatched to a support column, are gone........

Another nostalgic scene from 1970; this photo was taken at the Queens Plaza station.

Again, note the classic signage and other vintage station appointments, now long gone......

Here's two wintry views from early 1965, showing a cut of new BRIGHTLINERS coupled to a LV gondola (note that the end bulkhead has been removed, and the tank inside the car body), at the LIRR's Parkville Junction............
