In a historic event (even for a train simulator), Rio Grande 1015, Frisco 1522, and NYC 3135 triplehead for a train of mythic proportions

You can see that this is a really long train
What you can't see is HOW long the train is....

The train is 209 cars long (and a caboose), all authentic (pre-1960s), no duplicates, and pure frame rates killer

The two Challengers continue to drag their passenger train up the 4% grade. Just passed through Needle Eye Tunnel.

Having reached the summit of Rollins Pass at Corona (11,680 ft.). The real challenge awaits in trying to safely bring the train down the grade on the West side.

In part of testing, Cass Scenic Shay #5 doubleheads with New York Central Mohawk 3135 up the Highland Valley Mountains

(And before you ask, the engine is in beta)

In a tribute to John Allen's Gorre and Daphetid, Frisco 1522 and SP 2467 meet on a bridge, with Rio Grande 1015 and RGS 20 pass by underneath.

I later found out that two of the cars in the shot are lettered "Gorre and Daphetid". Nice coincidence

On cable TV they have a weather channel -- 24 hours of weather. We had something like that where I grew up. We called it a window.

Yo Joneau,

Do you really own parts of John Allen's model RR ? He had one huge layout with lots of rolling stock. I guess that way the Gore and Daphited RR lives on.

OK, so I went a bit overboard with it.
But here's a Baldwin Army, with the then TWELVE new engines made by Sub Par Productions.

To top it off, there's actually a video showcasing some randomness and the run.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEc628G_dmc

By the way, where did I ever say I own part of the Gorre & Daphetid? All I did was run some trains on a layout inspired by John Allen's work

NICE Southern power!  I haven't checked out much prototype stuff in a while due to be completely immersed in the VR community, but I was wondering where these came from.  Train-sim?  I might have to get that Saluda route!
