I love Train Dispatcher. And I am looking for new territories to dispatch and there are so many to play that I would like to start a poll to see what other people think. Ok I have a few poll questions.

Do you own a copy of Train Dispatcher? Version 1 (is there a one?), 2, or 3

What is you favorite historic territory?

What is your favorite modern territory?

What is your favorite freight territory?

What is you favorite passenger territory?

What is your favorite mix(passenger/freight) territory?

  What is the hardest territory?

  What is the easiest territory?

What is your favorite (anything else?)....

What is you favorite historic territory?
New York & Long Branch, circa 1950

What is your favorite modern territory?
MN Hudson Line

What is your favorite freight territory?
CR River Line

What is the hardest territory?
Either the Northeast Corridor, or the old Big Four line to Indy.

While it's a fictional RR, I actually think that SKLMigrane is the hardest sim I've ever run on TD.  In fact it's darn near impossible to actually stay on schedule.  It's a freebe available from the TD site and will run on either TD 2 or 3.

I've got both TD 2 & 3 along with Track Builder 2 & 3.

Man I have to get Trackbuilder! I'm getting bored of running the Conrail River Line...I want to edit in all the CSX changes.

I have TD2. The hardest route is Conrail's Lehigh Line. The easiest is Lehigh Valley's Buffalo Division. My favorite is Conrail's Reading Line.

Well I have been playing the different area yu'll have been telling me about and skl Migrane is the hardest. It lives up to its name. You better have skill, or it gives you skull a migrane. It is impossible to keep on time unless you issue a bunch of train stop orders then the stop timers don't run up.

Hmm,    stop orders.  I never thought of that.    What a novel approach!

Instead I took Track Builder and changed things a little, adding a little extra track here and there and changing a start time or two.

But otherwise, that sim is just about impossible and in fact I think that the designer wanted it that way.

I've got Version 3
My favorite historic territory is the NEC(NY-Trenton) from 1976

My favorite modern territories are (my own made territories) Conrail North Jersey Dispatcher 2003(Manville, NJ- North Bergen, NJ[CP-1]), CSX River Line 2003, NJT Raritan Line and Hudson Line 2002, Amtrak NEC(NY-Trenton) 2003, NJT Main/Bergen County/Paskack Valley, and Port Jervis Lines 2003, the NJT Coast Line Dspr 2003,  and the NJT M&E Dispatcher 2003(under construction).

The hardest territory will probably be a toss up between the NJT M&E(when finished) and the Northeast Corridor 2003 territory.

The easiest territory will have to be the NJT Raritan Valley Line Dspr.

I'll breathe some new life into this thread:

My favorite TD-3 territories:

EL-Port Jervis, NY to Suffern, NY
CR-Binghamton, NY to Suffern, NY
CR-Selkirk, NY to North Bergen, NJ

Being a former NJT train dispatcher on the Mainline (Hoboken-Port Jervis) I love running the 2 Southern Tier territories. I enjoy running the River Line, unfortunately within the first 2 or 3 hours I've brought the territory to a screaming halt with all sidings full and trains stopped all over the mainline.

Overall, TD-3 is a a great program. According to a very good friend of mine who is still dispatching for NJT it is very close to what they are currently using. I have Track Builder....I guess I should learn how to use it and maybe try building the current NJT Hoboken Mainline from Hoboken to Port Jervis, including the Bergen County and the PVL.

Oh well....food for thought!

I never got around to buying TD3!   But TD 2 is good enough for me!

My favorite historic territory is the DLW from Scranton to Port Jervis, circa 1958

My favorite modern territory is Conrail from Toledo to Berea

My favorite Freight territory is my BNSF in Kansas territory

My favorite Passenger Territory is the METRA electrified district.

The hardest territory is BY FAR: BNSF from Lincoln to Kansas City, and it is also the most realistic territory.

Easiest: My UP Topeka to Kansas City territory

Favorite Fictitious: My Highline territory, with completely randomized train schedule, i.e. I just stuck in the first time that came into my head. One moment it's dead, the next moment trains are everywhere! Plus you have to watch out for the hand-throw sidings vs. Powered switches, and if a scheduled train is late, you're screwed score wise.

I have TD-2. Favorite territories are the CR Toledo Yard and the ATSF Barstow to San Diego Line.  Hardest are the Northeast Corridor Lines. Older time line also very difficult due to it's large size that won't completely fit on my screen is the DT&I Line. I've had the game for about 8 years now, had over 40 territories but due to a computer "crash" only have about 10 now.

Does anyone know if the Track Builder 2 program got dumped off the net?

I remember downloading it on our old computer for free.  Now we have a brand new computer, but I can't find TB 2 freeware anywhere

Do you own a copy of Train Dispatcher? Version 1 (is there a one?), 2, or 3
I started with TD2 but have been with TD3 for a long time now. The advances are great. I don't even know where the TD2 link is anymore.

What is you favorite historic territory?
The old "bopinwil" !  (Baltimore and Ohio (1955), Pine Jct., IN (Gary) to Willard, OH)

What is your favorite modern territory?
An easy question:  Dave Honan's Version 5.1 of the CSXT SB Dispatcher. The sim includes the Woodland, CE&D, Evansville Terminal, Decatur, and St. Louis Subdivisions. Danville, IL, Terre Haute, and Evansville, IN are the major cities on this route.

What is your favorite freight territory?    Same answer as above.

What is you favorite passenger territory?
That's a hard question. I'm not much for passenger sims but Ray Kopp's  Chicago Union Station (T425 a pay territory) is a favorite.
I've started on Claus Liberg Rasmussen's   Copenhagen - Sprogo 2005 vers 251105 sim for an international fling!

What is your favorite mix(passenger/freight) territory?
This is like mixing oil & water?  I've tried Mike Sadowski's  T449 USA CSX-NS-CR Lehigh-Reading-Trenton Newark NJ - Philly-Lehighton-Reading PA 2004.  (Yes, another pay territory.) I have fun with this but I wish it was a historical territory. Oh well.

What is the hardest territory?   ( I ever tried.)
Dave Honan's CSXT SB Dispatcher v 4.0   (No longer available)

What is the easiest territory?
Honestly, I've forgotten.  I run a sim for the challange and if it's too easy, I'm bored and go on to another.  Sorry.

What is your favorite (anything else?)....
Place for information about Train Dispatcher....   The Yahoo Group,  "dispatchcentral"   (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dispatchcentral/)
