I've heard rumors that Jersey Central #113 will be coming to Steamtown once she is completed.  Anyone able to confirm or deny this or just have any information?  God knows Steamtown could use another steamer about now.

It is a rumor, and nothing more.

Actually, what you may have heard was the "wishful thinking"of excited railfans, saying to themselves...

"oh my, wouldn't it be nice if #113 were to come to Steamtown?"

There are no such plans.

What's going to happen to 113 when completed? Is it going to pull excursions somewhere? The Reading and Northern is excursion friendly, would they allow the 113 to run excursions out of Minersville or something? That would be great with 425 out of service to have some operating steam in Schuylkill County this year.

I really don't mean to speak for project 113 but there's nothing set in stone just yet! Anyway, this is a Steamtown forum...

There's talk of her going to the Colebrookdale Line of the Ex. Reading Company. to operate a tourist train from Boyertown and Pottstown.

It's been in the news papers and  show the 113 on their web site too.
