All:

Just purchased a copy of TRAINS magazine from January, 2005, and was greatly fascinated by the excellent story on PM #1225, which became the "star" of the film "THE POLAR EXPRESS".

This story (w/many excellent photos) goes into great detail of how this magnificent steam-driven steed became the "star" of this now-classic animated film, and also tells us of the "artistic liberties" taken with the basic look of a LIMA Berkshire.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the story is how the sound technicians (armed with their then hi-tech recording equipment) recorded the various sounds of #1225 for the engine in the film.

Never tire of seeing such a handsome steamer in the "cinematic spotlight".......

Excellent color gallery depicting #1225 at work, gloriously re-creating  the era of steam.

NOTHING could put on the spactucular show that steamers did, during the winter months.......
