County funds boost Landing train station restoration efforts; Lake
Hopatcong Foundation spearheads effort
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation's plans to restore, revitalize and use the
abandoned Landing train station is likely to gain a big boost, courtesy of
Morris County. The Township of Roxbury-sponsored project is among those
recommended for funding in the latest round ofMorris County Historic
Preservation Trust Fund grants. According to the county, the preservation
board has recommended to the freeholders that 32 historic preservation
grants be awarded. Projects in 19 Morris County towns would get a total of
$2.7 million in 2016 funding, should the freeholder approve the
