Some days, the most interesting person you meet is a river with a train running beside it.

The way some people are now a days, they probably thought you could stop or go around them on another track, to avoid hitting them. I think you have the kind of job that requires a big pack of rolaids!

Well, what do you know. There's dumb-asses all over. I had several people in Hudson, Ohio, do that same thing to watch the 4th of July fireworks one year. Nearly 15 people set up lawn chairs in the gauge of both tracks so they could see. I told them they had to leave and a lady said "it's alright. The mayor told the railroad to hold all the trains till after the show". I introduced myself and told her the railroad I work for was NOT holding trains and if she did not get off the property in one minute she could watch the show from the city jail. BOY did she get nasty with me. So did her sister. They both got a free ride to Hudson PD. Everyone else cleared out moments before the first train approached.

Sitting in a chair on RR tracks.  That's just incredible!  I have to wonder if they sit and play checkers in the middle of a street intersecton too.   As for kids on the train, might have been fun if they had let you speed up to 60 mph and not stop until you got to Nashville or something.

Incredible. Simply beyond the pale. What were they doing there? Were they, I hate to ask, railfans? Were they trying to see fireworks or some event? Why in heaven's name would anyone just set up a lawn chair on the tracks? Even I don't want to get that close to see a train.

With those beer cans, it looks like they were engaging in the wild life. Such stupidity could cost them their life.

That is where she deserves to be (in jail) if she wants to sit in between the rails.
