While hoping to get a glimpse of Amtrak's Pennsylvanian (which apparently was running very late), I managed to get a glimpse of four Silverliner IIs rounding the bend westbound at Wynnewood. This time 2010, they may all be dogfood cans.

| Lets hope SEPTA keeps a few in the event that the newer soon to be delivered Silverliner Vs have... well, issues. But I don't know the chances of that happening. I'm sure at least a few will be preserved; of which hopefully will be the 269. Would be nice if they operated on a few post-retirement excursions.

I would hope they preserve a few. I recall reading that RCT&HS wanted to approach SEPTA about getting at least one of the ex-RDG MU's.

Searching on "septa regional rail roster" with Google will answer all of your questions.

A few weeks ago, while staked out awaiting Prez Obama's inaugural train, I caught a glimpse of an old set of ex-RDG m.u.'s at Norwood Pa. The sun angle gave a nice view of ye olde cowcatcher. And I swear there's the faintest outline of a Reading diamond still visible on the front, just opposite the Septa logo.

Took a few moments to fan at Narberth today, along the R5. Caught this express, lead by an ex-RDG m.u., racing 'round the curve. The nice wave from the conductor was for a dad and his boy sitting next to me, also fanning.

I'm told that the Septa m.u. destroyed by fire on the R5 today at 52nd Street was put into service in the 60s. Anyone know which unit this was?
