Help - CSX lost a railcar

Seeking help from any interested parties in the Gainesville, GA area.  CSX Transportation lost one of our railcars and has given up the search.  We're hoping a team of RR enthusiasts can safely find this car and be more resourceful than a class 1 RR.  NATX251568 is our private car ID.  This is a black tank car with a last reported movement in Gainesville, GA.

NATX = General Electric Railcar Services Corporation

From Wikipedia:  GE Capital Rail Services, also known as GE Railcar, or GE Railcar Services Corporation was a business unit of GE Capital, a division of General Electric. It is a distinct business unit from General Electric's railway locomotive manufacturer.

In 2015 GE Capital announced the sale of its tank car and services business to Marmon Holdings, and the remainder of the business (other wagons, locos) to First Union Rail.

So, Skid_Vicious, who are you?  I don't think Marmon Holdings would need us to help find a rail car on CSX or anybody else, nor would we have access unless professionally connected.

Our company currently leases this car.  We shipped it loaded back in October of 2016.  Car never made it to the destination and the CSX has given up locating the car.  We're hoping someone can stumble upon it or spot in the Gainesville, GA area where it last CLM event occurred.

And your company's name and relevant business is ? ? ?

If you do not want to give that, at the least it needs to be known, is the car placarded, and if so what is the placard?

Thank you.  Also, to all interested, it is a well known name.  Surprised you could manage some arm twisting with CSX.  However, it seems that more and more the large railroad companies are trying to get out of "loose car" operations.  Maybe this is a symptom of that.

We twisted plenty of arms until they broke, but I'm afraid the CSX threw up their arms and gave up.  Very frustrating.  We'll get our pound of flesh out of them anyway, but we'd really like to find this railcar since it is loaded and display to the CSX what a little ingenuity can accomplish.  We plan to send some of our own team down to investigate the area if need be.

Perhaps to do the minimal paperwork? File a Claim for full value? The action often yields much attention...

Thank you.  Claim has previously been filed for the value of the product loss and equipment.  Now attempting to locate the car ourselves.

Thanks! Keep sending bills. More? Get discussions going with a Lawyer?

Tried to think of a polite answer to this, but think I will just answer straight out since your company is not paying me either directly or indirectly.

This is where you should have started instead of trying to get a freeby out of fans.  If you want a local guide you could probably find one for a fee find help.  (Note to anyone thinking about being such:  Do not underprice yourself.  They should be willing to put out some serious money here.  This is from one who knows the difference between his pay rate, which ain't bad and what my employer charges for my time.)

So far seems that we have been pulling factual information out one item at a time. Back to the last unanswered question:

What is the commodity, or at the least, is it placarded and with what placard?  Follow this up with any and all useful information, such as waybilled destination, why Gainsville, more specifics on last known sighting where and when, etc., etc.  Otherwise you are wasting your time and ours.

Sometimes I have this problem in finding rail cars also.

I would like to know if there are any forums or places to contact rail fanners that may be able to see certain yards or have access if they are in the biz.  This is something that I know our company would pay for if price was reasonable. Obviously, honesty here is important so I will state first off that my company is in the rail car leasing and sales biz. Some of our business is brokered sales or leases and so when it comes to getting information on rail cars thru Steelroads or the individual Class I's - not being a party to the waybill makes it very difficult to find a car sometimes past the track and trace reporting. This post sounds like that scenario.

I've been looking for a particular car myself so I stumbled on this post and curiosity made me check it out. I am coming up hard pressed to even find a yardmaster's phone number sometimes, so it would be nice to know that I could check the forums to see if there was anyone out there willing to check a yard or an industry side track if they are in the area.

Thanks, Chris
