I'm not certain I qualify as a collector.  However, I have a number of oil company state road maps cira pre 1955.  They are useful in tracing rail lines during that period of time.

I also have several orginal Railway Equipment Registers and Passenger Train Registers.  Many an hour has been spent reviewing old timetables and name trains of North American railroads.  Also useful in numbering of rolling stock for the model railroad.  They have been picked up over the years at various auctions or given to me by friends.

And I have a Western Maryland employee manual, and a very nice library of railroad books, plus several decades of Model Railroader and Model Railroad Craftsman magazines....Bob

A few RR signs, a piece of a steamer's tire, flatt pennies from getting run over by an engine, a few rail spikes, and that's all I can think of right now.

I have never considered a collector of railroad stuff, but I am a collector of all things. Being a railroad employee for many years, I do pick up some interesting things now and then. I have some neat whistle boards, a couple of standard clock signs, some old train orders, and telegrams from 1902. I also have a coupling link from the link and pin days. I found it one day while working a switch engine at SP's Miller Yard in Dallas TX. I was going back and fourth on what we call the drill track ,and kept seeing this thing way over across the main line. When I got a break, I walked over and got it. Can you emagine, it had been maybe 100 years since a link and pin had been used there, then all of a sudden this artifact surfaces. I think that possibly they had been doing some track work, and plowed it up with a ballast regulator.
