The City of Clifton (Texas) is repairing and restoring the passenger end of the old ATSF (nee Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe) railroad depot and is opening a new railroad museum in the depot building. The dedication and grand opening ceremony are schedule for 1:30pm on Saturday, May 6th.
The northbound Amtrak Texas Eagle will make a scheduled stop in Clifton to add to the celebration at approximately 12:30pm on its run from San Antonio to Chicago. This will be the first scheduled stop of a passenger train in Clifton since the early years of the Texas Chief in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The City has accumulated a significant collection of ATSF and other railroad artifacts dating back to the late 1800's thru the 1980's. The museum will be one of the very best small station museums in the country including a substantial railroad book and media reference library.

Sounds like good news. Clifton is a neat, small, town. Been through it a few times (both driving and on the train).
