Piost any example on any Failed preservation efforts and Societies. I have a few examples
1. Dick Jensen

2. Steel City Railroad Historical Society (restored a 2-10-4 to run on old B&O, now sitting at McKees Rocks awaiting any fate)

The ARMM and the K4 1361

Its funny that a restaurant in Cresson has a "K4 Burger" on their menu.

It comes dis-assembled, and you can't find the pickles anywhere.

I don't think the Toledo, Peoria & Western Historical Society is around anymore.  I don't know if the founder is still alive, but I know its last president (and chief spark plug!) died several years ago.  I haven't anything about them for a while.

The Pemberton Township Historic Trust is gone. As are the many Roebling Steel locos and cars they had on site. Go to the PTHT thread in Tourist Railways and Museums for a complete list of lost equipment due to a "Johnson" contest between the Mayor and the Trust president.

Later!

Catskill Mountain Railroad pushed out of existence by greedy politicians. Bleak outlook for US preservation with exception of very few bright spots
