Bretheren:

A reading from the Book of Vanderbilt, Chapter 6, Verse 8........

"......and so it was that a mighty Tower soared Heavenward, dwarfing all at its feet.....a Mighty Fortress whose cavernous halls echoed mightly with the powerful sounds of Progress and Commerce......a Holy Temple through which the feet of the faithful trod upon sacred ground......."

Let us now pay homage to Central Terminal, the last surviving example of Buffalo's majestic passenger stations......

This 1900's postcard, depicting the NYC coach yard at Buffalo, truly exemplifies the intense passenger activity that was once so commonplace in this bustling railroad city......

Let us all hope it can be brought back. It can be done, even of no as a rail terminal:

See the Interurban building in Dallas, Texas and the T&P Station in Fort Worth.

Agreed!

Even if not serving as an active passenger rail facility, this grand station deserves to be restored and serve in some capacity......its legacy and heritage are far too valuable to waste.....

"SILENT STATION"

Be forewarned......many of the images on this page may cause extreme feelings of anger and/or despair.

I don't know which disturbs me more......total and complete disregard for a historic structure, or mindless idiots who believe that vandalism is an enjoyable, legal pastime......
