"*"PASSENGER CAR PHOTO INDEX" also states that car was ex-PV #901"

George Elwood, on his Fallen Flags site, lists the car as being Long Island but the problem here is that none were ever rostered by the LI.  As much as I like George's site two things stand out to be downers to me, one being his information is sometimes inaccurate and the other being that even if you have accurate information for a listings, he really doesn't care.  I know of several folks who have submitted corrections but the errors remain on the site.

Eight were sold to Amtrak, of which five were later were rebuilt to baggage - coaches, with none of these cars having the round vents towards the front of the baggage area above the single wide window.  The vents, though, may have something to do with the grill shown to the right of the baggage door... hard to say but it is possible.

Just as a reference, this car would have carried a County-series name while on the New Haven and Penn Central (as well as Amtrak before being rebuilt to baggage - coaches.

I can not find anything to indicate that the Susie-Q did own the car nor has there been any other photos of the car found besides the two shots that Gary Stuebben submitted to George.  Several cars remained on the PC until Conrail but after the Conrail take-over there is nothing that can be found on them.  If anyone can help in filling in info on the car would be appreciated!!!

Here is the one photo of the "SOUTHLAND FALLS CLUB" in NYS&W livery; note that car is no longer displaying name (original link for pic comes via "PASSENGER CAR PHOTO INDEX")

I concur with your views; while the "FALLEN FLAGS" has provided many of us with a truly splendid collection of rare, vintage rail views, I, too, have found a number of errors, regarding either the equipment itself, or the locations of the pictures.

This can make identifying vintage equipment quite daunting, at times, to say the very least, especially when other sites present you with contradictory data .

Again, most appreciative of your input......

"1954 NH passenger roster; note listings for 'baggage-lounge' and 'baggage-parlor-lounge':"

New Haven didn't do any of us any favor since they rebuilt 206, 207 to eliminate the baggage section in 1949 while others were reconfigured with it left intact.  Bottom line for NH 200 - 205 and 208 - 219 is that they were baggage - buffet - lounge - parlor cars (the 2 Roomettes and 1 Drawing Room that were in the whole series of cars were sold as parlor space).  The 205 - 209 were rebuilt with 3 Drawing Rooms while keeping the buffet and lounge space.  (It should be noted that parlor cars on the New Haven had basically what would be a "delux" coach's 2-1 seating compared to 2-2, as found on some C&O Imperial coaches and L&N Deluxe coaches.)

Here are links to diagrams of this series of cars, which will help to show how the various cars were configured:

http://www.alphabetroute.com/nynhh/1955passdgms/210-219.pdf

The magazine Diesel Era published a great article that detailed the changes that the New Haven made to these and other parlor cars but I do not remember which issue it was (it was a very early issue) and the Trains Magazine Index will not bring it up.

Again, your time and effort are much appreciated; great links!

From the research I've done, it is clear that the only ex-NH cars running on LIRR rails were the LW Pullmans which the LIRR converted into parlors.

Cars #'s 2065-2071 were the ex-NH sleepers brought by the LIRR.......
