Another car that was used as a "trailer" for the Budd RDC3ms was CRIP 70, rebuilt from Budd coach - lounge observation 455 Missouri...

The caption on the link says the photo was taken at Isleta, New Mexico.  This Motor was most likely in local passenger/RPO service between Albuquerque and Belen, New Mexico.  Long-distance varnish via the "Southern Route" through Clovis and Amarillo did not call at Albuquerque, but passed some 40 miles to the south, through Belen.  Passengers, mail, and express were ferried by local connection.  This short train likely made several round-trips each day.

Gentlemen:
 
Cannot discuss self-propelled rail cars of years past without mentioning the historic equipment once so commonplace overseas.
