Vern, your welcome, if your interested their is a book from the "Images of Rail" series, titled "Eastern Shore Railroad" by Chris Dickon which provides some more history and a lot of photos of the float operations here in Virginia, I'm pretty lucky I get to watch the loading/unloading operations from time to time, as my office is on Little Creek Amphibious Base.

Thanks! Is this astonishing, or what? PENNSYLVANIA RR had its own operations
issues with lightly used, DELMARVA branches...
 
History of later period (see Hayman work) has photo of the 'motor car' which ran
to and from Rehoboth, DE. There is a great deal of material which is not in the  
Hayman work...
 
All the more reason that, somewhat later, the Line put any work onto Highway  
Bus, substituted service. (The Georgetown, DE - Pocomoke City line comes to
mind, among others.)...
