This article is from Railway Age the September 19th, 1925 edition.  The crane was a fixture on Pier 6 for many years.  It had a capacity of 20 tons which easily lifted boxed automobiles probably from the Ford Motor Company Plant located just north in Edgewater. According to the article 100 to 130 cars per day could be loaded which increased the piers loading capacity 300 to 400 percent. Powered by electricity the motors were all manufactured by General Electric.
