The image below was in the December 1954 issue of New York Central's Central Headlight Magazine. The location is, obviously I hope, the west balcony at Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The caption read:

Holiday Greetings from the New York Central System

Roger, Do you any other information about the artwork. The signature is difficult to read - it appears to be Russell.  Could it be by Terence Russell?

No, I'm afraid not.  I though the sig was Bennett.

The painting, "Leaving Chicago in a Winter Twilight," (a wonderful illustration) is the work of a man named Gil Bennett. Gil is a professional artist who does commission work and also teaches painting at Utah Valley University. His great passion is railroading, which he said he acquired by spending many hours with his grandfather, a C&NW freight agent.

Gil Bennett has painted many rail scenes and has a website with a gallery of his railroad paintings. They are terrific. Here's a link to his gallery webpage.
