Hello,

My father and grandfather both worked at the Brewster yard all their lives.

My father Donald (Big Mac) McConnell worked as third trick yardmaster.
My grandfather Ralph (Mac) McConnell worked as a yard engineer.  My grandfather was the last steam engine retired from the yard.

As a child i can remember going to the yard with my father and setting in the tower watching the action.  Also getting to ride in my grandfathers engine from time to time.

Could anyone provide me with any links that might provide information as to my grandfathers engine or any info or contacts others my have had with either my father or grandfather.

Hi, Big_Mac_son, and Welcome to the Forums!

This might be a place to start:

The Nickel Plate Historical and Technical Society-- www.nkphts.org

They might be able to give you some leads.  I wish you well!

Regards,

Norm
