One of the diesels be used for this trip, correct?  I am glad they are able to run this excursion train.  Their paint scheme on the GP30 and the C30-7 looks really sharp.

Very cool train!  I hope the people at the Lansdale Festival liked it, as a change from regular SEPTA trains.  That PA Northeastern engine is a shocker!  I will have to go there and take my own photos of it now.

Very cool, indeed!  I didn't know the NH&I C30-7 is currently being repainted, so the GP30 & C39-8 combo handled the train.

I remember when freight use to get picked up in Ivyland every Sat. Night..Could never figure out why they did not do a passenger from there to New Hope, specially in this day and age. A train to New Hope would generate big bucks

Not a money maker - at all.

Only the fall trips generate enough revenue to warrant the expense of running them....even those have taken a hit in terms of ridership in the last few years.

They ran Mixed trains on Saturday nights in the 1970's... never generated many passengers, and those that did ride often were subject to break downs, derailments and other delays that often saw the 7pm departure, returning to town at 2 or 3 am - not making for many happy passengers. Often the cars ran without interior lights too...

Fast forward 30 years, they ran daily trips out of Warminster, 2 or 3 trips a day, all summer long... barely 100 people a day... (they barely get 100 people a day out of New Hope some days)... I think it lasted 2 seasons.

So, if you do run a trip to New Hope on a Saturday.. ok, now you have to decide; what time you do a return?... do make sure you get all those drunk folks back on board...what time?...11pm, 12am?...2am, 3am?... do you bus them back...what about those left in town who missed the train....don't forget about the crew overtime..

Too much hassle for a definite loss in terms of money.

Yes I remember the Mixed Freights, kinda worked there back then. What I ment was more present day. Shame something cannot be worked out with Septa. Also confused as to all the very heavy diesel rolling stock, seemed tracks were being upgraded for something and there is storage all along the line. Hard to tell what is actually going on with this line.
