Nice, glad u r able to keep working.  Please keep ur updates coming as there are few left to keep the board active.  I have been short on shop time due to wife health issues.

Does your boiler code allow the pressure gage to tap in without a loop?

Hi Tom, Henry. Good to hear from you. Re the gauge, its only temporary while I test for leaks. It belongs on the diamond shaped plate top right of backhead along with drifting gauge and air brake gauges and yes it will have loop. I will run pipes when cab is done.

Hi, Another couple of months gathering dust at the engineering place, with nothing done, so I've brought it home. From now on I do everything, cos I'm sick of promises and half done jobs.  Here I've parked the boiler on the chassis while I measure up for the cab.

Learning how to make piston valves is hard. Words like "spools" and "liners" and "piston rings" and "timing" brings fear!
Somehow I've managed to get something of a semblance of order and learnt some new skills. On the left are some fails while on the right is a cylinder with liners, spools and rings, hopefully of the right size and in the right place. This thing might just work.
BTW, the diesel won another best loco at a well respected club. It's the first time a diesel has won  the major award. The curse is broken and I now have a "multi-award winning" loco
