As usual and as expected, more beautiful work from the Herring shop. Way to go, Duncan and thanks for the pics, Pennsy.

Thankyou Don, for posting these updated pics of Dunkin's "A". I guess I missunderstood the info that I received. Sorry for postin incorrect info. I see only one wheel set complete, but a bunch of crank pins in place in that pile of drivers. Glad you guys could spend some quality time with a quality builder.

Bruce,

Unsure of whether or not you provided wrong information.  Duncan was set to start pressing wheels on axels the day we were there.  It is quite possible that substantial progress was made after we left.  You did hit the nail on the head, quality time with a quality builder.  Take care,

Don

   Guys,

On my way back home to SW Florida from Pa. and rideing the #425 and the #40, I just had to stop in Rock Hill, SC, and pay my friend Dunkin Herring a visit. Of course, I wanted to see what he has accomplished on his N&W "A".

I've got a bunch of pics to share.

only pic for tonight. five of the six completed driver wheel sets. ready to install when the chasis is a little farther along. more pics shortly

OK, Greg, here are a few more pics of the workmanship of this builder. Who, BTW, also does'nt make a lot of noise about his tremendous accomplishments.

lead truck, almost finished, placed under the chasis for my picture.

I don't know if this pic shows how long this engine will be. I tried to get the entire chasis in, but I don't think the pic does the size of this locomotive justice. And the cylinder blocks have been removed, so Dunkin can work on the chasis stuff for the time being.

That shop is downright sterile! The engine is looking good.
