Bobby,
Congratulations to you and Bob. Looks like a job well done and enjoyed by all.

Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

The venerable BCRR NW-2 made several rounds with several different engineers!

The BCRR would like to officially congratulate the owner on the completion of his home track and we would like to express our thanks for a great day and a really great BBQ lunch. This is what the hobby is about!

Thanks Greg, I am pleased with the way it turned out. Although I was a little concerned when the conversation turned to "Phase Two" LOL.

Bobby,
I sure looks like a good time was had by all. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to enjoy the festivities with everyone else. Perhaps some other time. Also,
a congrats. to Bob on the completion of his new track, at least for now we all know that this hobby is an ever evolving one and that there will undoubtedly be more trackage add at a later date. Good luck Bob and have fun.

Well, I'll toss my photos and video in the lineup here as well.  I had a blast and it was a neat track to run.  First photos, then at the end I'll add a link for the video.  Also make note, any red shirts were the guys from the BCRR, white were the ladies..  Boy, did we look sharp!

The NW-2 with part of the BCRR crew passes the yard.

Another switcher leads out onto the mainline.

The Timson's (Mr. & Mrs. Speedy) pass us on the main line.

BN critter speeds off pass us on the center of the dog bone.

The yard stay pretty busy through the day.  Trains constantly in and out as well as yours truly switching a few things around and organizing things out.

The two engines lined up in front of the water tower.  Almost ready. Hats off; prayer is being offered.

DOT DOT DOT, DONE.

Cody on the 0-4-0.  He ran it back and forth in the yard.

And finally, the youtube video.  You can see the golden spike connection and at the end the full run of the brand new track.

What was a joke 5 years ago, has in fact become reality. Phase two has commenced!

Here is where we are starting. We will finish the switch at a later time. Mario is putting in some temp rails so we can drive the tractor over this crossing, while Ben is learning how to screw rail to tie.

The track will follow this nice curve. I took this early on Saturday, by quitting time this section was screwed down and partially ballasted.

Continuing along the curve. In this area will be a crossing for access to the rear of the barn.

The curve straightens out. The section missing was the original crossing location.

Looking back in the opposite direction from the last shot. Here to the left will be a WYE connecting to the existing yard.

We had to relocate a crossing to avoid damaging a Guava tree that decided to spread out into the road.
