   Tom,

You remarked on my pic of me in the snow six weeks ago in E. Pa. Well, it my turn. The great pic of the diesel sitting on the table IN THE SNOW, gave me chills. We, here in SW Fla. cooled off lately, way down to the fiftys and sixtys. No snow though.heh,heh,heh.

Well we finished off the front sanders.  Used a hole saw to cut one hole thru the frame and started the second but it broke the teeth off.  Since we had no other of that size, Mel took the torch to the remaining hole and burned it out.  We now have working sandrers on both ends.  Now the snow has melted off so will have to wait to test the front ones.  Here is a pick of the box in the nose of the unit with Mel hooking the wires for the motor up.

Hi all,

Now that spring has sprung, we pulled the sand boxes and primed and prepped for paint.  The front box got it's final coat on the part that is in the engine compartment.

Hello,  The SR&CL Ry has a working foundry.  We got our first parts produced. The part on the left is two Body Bolster end casting and the other is 1/4 of a spring pack for a passenger car truck.  Mel has been busy making patterens and planting them on match plates.  We mixed up a batch of sand and started pounding sand.  Next up is to try cored castings.

With all these new parts coming out of the foundry,  Jack has started a car barn to put the equipment in.  It will be on the end of the spur before the switchback to the tie barn.  The track in the background is the mainline at Kat Jct.  The view is to the Northwest.

Bruce,  no pond or streams on the property.  We wished there was.

That barn is gonna be handy, Tom. How many tracks/cars will it take?

We have come up with a reuse of old school bus frames.  Turns out some of them are 7.5 inches wide.  Jack put one 32 foot section in the new car barn and it will work for us.  we will need a transfer table someday to access all the tracks so will probably cut one down and add wheels to use for that.  Isn't recycling great?

Thats awesome. I see a scrounge run to the local truck scrap yard is in my future. Your car barn is coming along very nicely.
