Thanks Greg,  Here is a shot of the end railings.  Not sure why the flash shows the paint so different.  Can't see it under normal light.  Must be the reflection of the light off the gloss.

The rearend brakeman needed a seat.  Mel found this at Walmart!  I hope he doesn't rock himself to sleep as the bottom is rounded back there!

Hi all,

Unlike Moose who wants his interior to look like the real thing, we want to be inside ours.  So we compromise and make things simple so "the body" can get in and not cause to much damage!  In order for the seat to go up and down, it needs 12volts.  I made a battery tray and put in a couple of terminal strips and a power bus.  Mel found a piece of aluminum plate to bend up to hold the switch.

Here is the actuator in with a temporary seat.  It lifts me up into the cupola so I can see out.  Just what I wanted.

Hi Chris,

The seat got done.  I had to work over the original shot as it was dark.

A shot of the side door.  We hope to put down black rubber mat on the floor when I buy some!  You can see the switch that controls the seat height on the wall.  We used our door handle casting from the boxcar and it works well for the side door.  Car is almost done.
