This Thread will be about new projects or fixin old things.  Back in 2005 we were working on the CBE branch so I will start there.   Here is the work train just before we got to the switch for Old George.  In the background is the track on the fill below High Pt.   At one time that was going to be a steel bridge but Jack thought it would be to difficult so just filled it in.

These are the spur tracks for Old George.  We can drop cars by as it is down hill from before the switch.

Jack surveying the finished track.  Tamping bar is in his right hand,  broom for final shaping is stuck in dirt behind him.  Ever faithful tractor is resting.

We are planning on building a bigger caboose (4 axle vs 2 axle) so we have started on parts for the trucks.  Mel has the axles done and is working on the journal boxes.

Mel likes to build more than one of things as the setup time is as much as the final part in some cases.  We are doing 3 pair of trucks so have bent up some of the straps for the side frames.  I am drilling the holes and Mel is checking one on the frame in the rear.

As you may tell from the pics is that Jack has decided to try aluminum for the spring plank and bolster.  He was tired of the bolsters breaking.   This should stop rot and the splitting that would happed from drying out.  Here is another shot of the truck taking shape.

#501 has wore its wood deck out.  It was constructed out of popular and it didn't withstand the shoveling and water it was subjected to.  Jack has started to tear off the old.  We now use Treated lumber to replace decks which should last longer.

#501 has it's new deck and Mel made some stencils for it.  Unfortunately, we had no stenciling paint so tried enamal.  DON"T is my suggestion as it stuck to the stencils and wouldn't break at the lines.  We had to sand off and do again.  Bummer!

Tom, looks great!  I need to build some similar wooden cars for my Davenport, but they will be 2.5" scale.

Bruce,

There are pretty close to scale in 3 3/4.  Things will be husky in our scale and because of that, they can get a good workout to earn there keep.
