Some times ice build up can cause problems.  Car derailed going thru switch for ramp track.
Jack gets it back on in a flash with bottle jacks so loads can be delived on time!  Engine was on caboose as loads were on the CBE branch.  We can drop the cars by to push up but not run around there.  It was getting late and didn't switch the cab around.

The DARK Side.  The engineer is busy going over his steed as it will have to tackle the 5.2% grade ahead.  One needs his steed to be at it's best for the climb to High Point.

   Tom,

The snow in pics #41 and 42 made me feel cold way down here in SW Florida. Thats a lot more white stuff than I drove through last week in eastern PA. and SW Viriginia. I always enjoy your pics of that wonderful operation up there in the frozen north.

   Stay warm,

Extra #7 West waits at Jack's Pit for Orders.  The engine builder sits in the aux tender freezing.  Is that a smile breaking thru?

Ah, yes. Nothin' like sitting in a steel box full of ice water! Brrr!

Where is the semaphore controled from?

Mechanical engineers build weapons, whereas civil engineers build targets.

When the man at the door said," Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms", I, naturally assumed it was a delivery!

Greg,  that box is full of coal.  The semaphore is a train order signal and is operated by hand by the station operator.  Cheap and dirty!

Hey Tom, we haven't had any updates here so I thought I would bump this thread.

I was changing the water pump in my Chevy S-10 about a week ago, and I had taken the serpentine belt pulley off of it. These pulley's are 4.5" and have a nice flange on the backside. I think these would be useful to your group for MOW and speeder wheels. The thread area is too wide to be of any use for us.

Bruce,  It is now December and just flurries.

#4 is on the old spur at High Pt. getting a load of wood for the roundhouse stove via Mill 3 where it will be cut to length.  Jack is wondering when the engineer is coming back to work!  Put that dang camera away and let's go!!!!
