Finally, here I am doing my best "do I really have to run the engine" routine.

I caught Russ D. just after he woke up while riding the passenger car for a few trips around RR. I'm not sure if this was before or after he was at the throttle !!!!!!! (I did'nt say bottle,,, I said throttle)

To match one of Bobby T's pics. Here is Ray H., Mario, Pete, and Cam W. sitting near the tracks, under a shade tree. This is something that most of us in this hobby are "experts" at. Heh,heh, heh, heh.

Three young, and able "steam" engineers gathered around the cli-shay that ran all day. Clayton L, David G., and Donald G.

BTW, these three young guys really surprised the BCRR group. They were all wearing the BCRR T shirts that they received the last night of the Un-Meet in Feb. Notice,,,, its early in the day of running........The shirts are still clean!!!!!!!!!!

Now here is a pic of a guy that travelled a goodly way to be at this gathering. He took a few days of vacation from his job of running really BIG trains,,,,,,,,, to do what?? Why run slightly smaller trains,,,, of course.

Ray Heaton from southern Illinois, at the throttle of Scott Long's 4-6-2.

Oh, here are the three young engineers again. Guarding the main food table with the Bar- B- Q. Take a look at those faces and those shirts. Who the hell would go near that table with them standing there. Mahaha, ahh, heh, heh, ehe.

This pic is almost a walk back in time,,,,sort of! We were all glad that Cam W. could make the day of festivities with us all at the Frog Hollow. Here he is, now twenty one, at the throttle of the nice running Pacific belonging to Scott Long.

It was about ten years earlier in the same general area of Florida, that Cam, at eleven years old, became, at the time, the youngest guy to run my Atlantic. He remained the youngest to handle the throttle of 7597 until this past Feb when David G. ran 7597. David is 9.

Its great to see these younger guys handleing live steam locomotives the way they do. With care and respect.

I thought I had posted a comment on this thread, but I guess I forgot to hit the post button at the bottom. I just wanted to say what a great time I had and to say a HUGE Thank You to Scott and the rest of the Long family as well as the rest of the Ten Wheeler gang for wecoming us to their place for the weekend. I took some videos as well as a lot of pictures and will post them as soon as I have time. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing you all in Feb.

My last picture from a wonderful day spent with good friends.
The three young engineers again in the camera's eye. They were just presented three O-fficial modern railroad lanterns by Bruce T. These lanterns were gifts from Ray H.

To Scott Long and his family,
I wanted to say that you have some nice track and have something to be proud of.  I was very impressed.

Thanks Russell for all the compliments and you and all the guys are genuinely welcome.  We are proud of our railroad and hope someday to lay a little more track so that we can run a few more trains and bi-directional. I keep saying next year, but that year seems to always fly by with less time and money to throw into it.  As usual, maybe next year huh?

I've looked at the pics and watched the video and it has been a genuine pleasure seeing so many of my friends having a great time.

I can not express enough the gratitude of our Ten-Wheeler group to our great friends of the BCRR.  We know its a long trip for a one day meet but your being there added that little bit extra that makes this such a great hobby.  Many thanks for coming and we look forward to the next BCRR UnMeet.  Thank you also for the great pics and videos.

Well, today we had sort of an impromptu work day.  I headed over to Bruce's with my boys to get some advice and guidance from members of the steam team.

I took over my gondola project in hopes to get it ready for service once again.  Long story short, the new frame is almost complete (more to come on that later).

So my boys were there and in short order got broaching more key-ways into the drivers with Bruce the larger guiding the way.  Our fearless leader Jeff taught the collet chuck who was boss and soon driver axels were getting lighter.  I believe the total count complete was enough for two locos worth.

Tom showed up and got in on the act of broaching key-ways too.  It was a great work day and we seemed to make quite a bit of progress.  Seems the mini-meet "re-lit" our fires and we were back at it.  Speaking of the mini-meet, Bruce the larger hit the nail on the head saying that day was made much more special by all of the attendees coming and joining in on the fun.  Glad to hear everyone made it home safe and sound.  Happy Steaming!

Here is a photo of three separate machines going all at the same time, David on the press, Jeff on the lathe, and me on the mill.  Lotso chips were flying in this photo!
