We didn't get a break on the drivers, but had them delivered to a business and saved some money on the shipping.

Well guys it's been a while since I last posted here and figured (with a little prodding) that it may be time to update the status of our build project.

The frames are coming along nicely and should be complete in the not so distant future.  Driving wheels are also coming along and one by one, we are getting closer.  There have been a lot of pins made, too many to count.  Progress is being made and I hope to keep everyone updated a little better from now on.

I will include several pictures of the progress in the next few replies.  Happy steaming!

A little bit of Part Art as we like to call it.

How did you make the spring straps?
I could see making one or two by hand but you must have a fixture of some type.

Thank you
Dave

I did make a fixture for the spring straps which makes bending them very simple and accurate.  The blanks we had laser cut with the elongated holes.  The a fixture to line up the hole on the center. the in gets place into another fixture and bent. I will try to post some pictures.

And now if you use a little bit of your imagination you can see a locomotive sitting here.  Enjoy!

My Allen Mogul has the tender nearly done, but the engine is alas nothing more than flame-cut frames. So, I am nearly in the position you are in that I stare at the frames in my shed and picture them on my completed engine.

Don,
That locomotive is looking great!  She really is coming along and I can picture her lined up for the main at the BCRR!  I think thats pretty cool that you are trying to catch the CP touch, always very artistic loco's.

Please keep us informed, we are always excited at steamers being put together on this board!

Well, another weekend leads to more parts going on the completed shelf.  Soon we will have to expand that to completed shelves.  Our project continues and the parts in progress/completed likely number over 1,000.  I will post some photos of recent work sessions.  Hope everyone is doing well.  This photo shows me at the lathe turning a driver and tapping some parts.
