 † Friends,

† This is the vid from the Mid South Live Steamers facility in Columbia, Tnn. It was the summer of 1999. And their first mid summer meet ever. Mike Keteltas and I just happened to make arrangements to be there. We had Mike's 2 1/2 in. scale Whitcomb switcher and my Atlantic with us. Plus a few assorted cars.

† Take a look at the thread " Gaser and Steamer team Up". That will explain the whole story behind this video from many years ago. Plus a few other TRUE storys that I've written here directly pertaining to this facility.

† Again, I sure hope I don't bore everybody out of their minds with these videos.

 † Take care,

 † Bruce

SE:  Sorry but my computer is kinda old and wont play your movie, I know, thats sad...

IVR:  Nice video, they arnt so bad!!!  Thats really neat how they run the small gauge right with the big gauge.  I would love to live at one end of the track and have to ride down to the other to get my car or something.  It would be neat if a live steam track ran INSIDE of a standard gauge!!!  Or at least a spur backing on onto one, so you can compare sizes, what a neat photo that would be!

Bruce:  I'm really glad that you are shooting the trestle as it goes along with completition, it gives us up north a idea of the massive project.  And thanks for giving me that information on the couplers, that helped ALOT!

I just got back from Nashville, TN at the National Technology Students Association.  We carried my train for a competition, which we didn't won, but we got alot of attention when the competition was able to be view by the public.

Here is a short video of the display with the sound card running there.  We put the top hanging over the bottom to show the components and the top at the same time.

I also scored a top 10 in the world for High School architectural CAD!  !

Some more goofing around with the Atlantic courtesy of some compressed air and a fog machine.

WELL,

I've been so busy with Technology Student Association competition, where i got a top ten in the nation for 2D CAD.  I also entered my train, which was judged by 3 engineers, non of which understood the concept....  lol...  We also stopped by Columbia, TN, Mid South Live Steamers, but no one was there...  HHmmmm, must have been a meet somewhere.

So I then went to Ft. Myers, of where I ran trains for the 4th of July week since Armando Ingratta was gone to Chicago, few derails, its been better..   but I made it.

Then we are now off to Maine, (I and my grandparents).  We have been traveling since Sunday morning and we stayed last night in Rock Hill, SC ( I bet some of you have been there!)  and it just happens that Dunkin Herring lives there.   WELL, it took 3 trys to catch up with Mr. Herring, he is very busy we found out!  But we caught up with him at about 10AM this morning and drove out to Gordon Rd.  (hhmmmm, nice name) where we met him to see his locomotives.  I picked his brain some, asked questions and then ran a test run.  What a grade!  4.5 %!  I don't think that us in Florida have ever heard of more than 2%!  Well, I took the double header off on a short jaunt on the upper loop side and took it nice and slow.  And I got a video from the engineers seat while going around part of it.

Here is the link-

I also have a few other videos I need to upload, but you can check out some of my others, like the one of my train at Nashville, TN with the sound card running in demo mode.  I need to get some really good pictures, preferably on a track running,      !!!

Well, we now are off to Maine, and the Penn. State Railroad Museum and Strasburg Railroad (ever heard of it, ).  And then off up Mount Washington and maybe some other places along the way.  I'll keep in touch!

Below is a picture of me running his locomotive.  Dont I look happy!?  I should have smiled!

Thanks guys.  I had just finished putting in an axle pump before this meet and the engine ran great.  I was pulling 14 cars when the video was taken.

Bruce,
I know how much you like to shoot videos from the cab of your locomotive.  So when I saw this on youtube, I thought of you!  P.S. in case you can't tell, this wasn't taken in Florida!

Finally found this clip again.  It's of my Gauge 1 (coal fired) Live steamer, showing just what a little engine can do.
