Tom, Thanks for the compliment,,,,,,,,,,,,I think!! But like I always say, the entire BCRR project is a "we" effort. Its a lot of railroad being built and changed by a very few, very dedicated friends. Bruce

Friends, A bit of news from the BCRR. Our resident builder, dreamer, RR owner, Peter B. has had a hernia operation this week. If anyone remembers, there are a number of us in the live steam hobby that call it the "hernia gauge". I guess one Mohawk or one Hudson re-railing to many got our friend Pete. He is doing fine now, but the rest of us will have to work at keeping him from doing too much for a while. That is always a challenge, slowing Pete down. Even for a little while!! Bruce

Tom, Greg, thanks so much for your concerns. believe me, we had to almost fight with Pete today to keep him out of stuff. If he does not do anything that he should'nt, he will recover OK. Its hard to keep a guy like Pete B. down though. Thanks again, I'll past the good thoughts on to Pete.

For those that are following along with the revamp of the BCRR railroad, a little bird told me something yesterday. Again, the owner, builder of the BCRR, by himself, installed another switch. This is the last switch to make the new pattern work. Now, one more diamond and about two hundred more feet of track laying, and that makes all of the new sections in place. Its late Fri night, so I've got to get to bed to take on the challenges of tomorrow at the BCRR. Thanks to all that are following along on this energetic journey of the few of us at the Bcukingham Central.

Well guys, the birdy was right. Pete, just two weeks after haveing that damn hernia operated on, installed ANOTHER switch, by himself. He is already getting on the move to lay trackage to the last diamond needed for the new pattern to work as of last Sat. Visitor Adam on left, Bobby T. looking things over, Mario holding on to his beautiful little boy, and grand pa Pete taking a gander where the diamond will be set in. new switch built in place last Thursday. BTW, all existing cross overs are being incorporated into the new track pattern

Damn, That little birdy was talking to me again!!!! I was told that there are supporting stringers under the new trackage in the L&C sub crossing that low spot. And fill rock started going into the area next to the existing main line that leads to the Bobby Timson bridge. again, just a handfull of guys with a lot of determination. pics tomorrow of the progress from Sat's efforts.

Friends, and those that are'nt, Yesterday, at the BCRR, a whole lot got done, as useual. But I think I'm going to post all of that in the track laying thread, it really belongs there. But, what we did after we put the tools up is what I'm talking about here. Pete and friends, had a Halloween party last night. At the RR, of course, with steam locomotives, food, family, neighbors, and steam locomotives, little kids, big kids, RR enthusiasts, non-enthusiast, and steam locomotives. Oh, did I mention steam locomotives. Both of Pete's engines were out. The Hudson and the Mohawk were fired by about four thirty or five. I can't remember exactly the time. From that time on till after nine o'clock at night, those two engines ran, and ran, and ran. Trains full of visitors, rolling along the BCRR ROW, from early evening into the dark of night. Mario was at the throttle of the Hudson from start to finish. I had the honor of running the might Mohawk from the engine lead till we quite at about nine PM. Many trips around the exisitng ROW pattern were made by both engines, much to the delight of the visitors. One visitor, who has some expierience around these trains, asked me if I worry about running in the pitch dark like this. I told him that when we run in the black of night like this, one has to put your faith and trust in the last guy that had his hands in the track work. BTW, we ran two heavy steamers, with the NW2 as back up, for all of those hours, IN THE DARK, without so much as one track problem. Plus, both engines ran flawlessly, until we put them away for the night. SOOOOOO, thats what we did at the BCRR last night !!! For Holloween. Oh, not one picture did I take !!! Sorry. I was too busy running a truely great loco. Said with huge smile on my face.

Friends, A little note that I should have written in the previous post but forgot to. The fact that we could run the way we did on Holloween night, from 5PM to after 9PM, in the pitch black, non stop, with two heavy steam locomotives and trains full of visitors, is a tribute to the builder of these wonderful running machines, our friend, Peter Bialecki. And to my friends that jump in and help with the track work. Running at night, without a wheel off the track, for a combination of eight hours plus worth of operation between two locomotives, is a true testament to the dedication, and workmanship of the BCRR track crew.

HOO-WHEEE!!! This is too much fun! For clarification: The parallel tracks at the bottom will travel from left to right The single track will travel right to left The pivo pair will be opposing traffic with the top track going right to left and the one closest to the wind mill going left to right.

The BCRR interlock. This is just one of many crossing on the new BCRR track plan. This one though will need a pretty major signal system to protect it, which raises some interesting concepts on how to build it. As for the finally trackplan there at the BCRR, I believe that the NW-2 will be facing the other direction at the crossing. (Correct me if I'm wrong track guru's) Also, thankyou to all the BCRR track gang and group. I really enjoyed my day out there and I hope to get back South again soon. I'm currently making some rough drawing and checking parts to see how I could fix that chain from slipping... I'll go tomorrow and find you guys so relays and LEDs for some signals and other misc things for down there... Dean

Friends, No matter how busy we get at the BCRR with this project or that, there is always time to help out another "REAL" enthusiast. Here are a couple of pics which show exactly what I'm talking about. Pete, Russ and Dean at the ban saw right after they cut a 2 in thick by two foot long by twelve inches wide piece of lead into a certain size for extra weight in Deans 44 tonner. They are working hard at separateing the sections in this pic. Real live steam friends helping real live steam friends !!!
