Hi folks,

I recently purchased this slide that has the title as shown above. Not sure where this could have actually been as Brighton Ave is on a rather steep hill. Of course it may have been a bit different before I-481 was built.

The bit of research I could do states Jamesville had a coal yard. Not sure if it would be one and the same.

Can anyone offer any insight on this? Thanks.

Just a guess, I think this is along "rock cut" on the opposite side where the steam plant is. There was some yard tracks in there at one time.
The one in Jamesville is still there but doesn't fit the photo.

Thanks for the reply Charles. I think you have much more than a guess here.

I drove through there the other day and the terrain is a perfect match for what is on the North side of 481, opposite the trash burning plant. I also checked out the topo maps at mapquest.com and they show three tracks just like in the image. You have to look at the "Online Maps", not the historic maps on mapquest to see this. The link will go from maptech to www.mytopo.com and then you type in Jamesville, NY. Follow the tracks north and west to see the image below.

When driving along 481 through the area, if you look in the weeds carefully, it looks like a cement foundation for this facility is still there.
