Lehigh Valley #503, a U23B, became Conrail #2779. It then went to Wimpey Minerals, which is now Vulcan Materials Co and is seen here at their Annapolis Junction Distribution Yard in Jessup, MD. on 3/16/16.

Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

Mike,
all the known LV Survivor information is kept here:

https://sites.google.com/site/scotlawrence/lvrr-survivors

2779 (LV 503) is still with us! Although many of her sister are not..
the LV U-boats in particular have been falling to the torch rapidly in recent years..
Five have been scrapped in the past decade!
There were plans to preserve one on them in Sayre, but unfortunately the deal didn't work out.

Today only four of the LV's twelve U-boats still survive..and two of those four are non-running and could still be scrapped..

Scot
