Pier.........Well, Charlie said Perth Amboy, and if it's not that, then it's Jersey City.......But its not the Johnston Ave Yard, so it's either the National Docks or Constable Hook in Bayonne (it's not Claremont Terminal)

Heh, I see what you did there (very nice!)........Without my Val Maps for Claremont, I cannot confirm or deny the building in questions location, but from the hazy background, this would be looking inland towards the heights, and slightly to the south (channel to the left)

It is Claremont Terminal, unfortunately I don't know who the photographer is or when it was taken.

Ah, very nice!

I'll have to see if I can unearth my Facility map and find out what the building was used for. I have a feeling it may have been the mule barn.

I found this buried in a folder on my old computer, no date, no photographer, but I know where it is. Who's feelin' lucky?

LV Coxton,Coxton Bridge in the background over the Susquehanna River.Bridge was the beginning of the LV West Pittston Branch..Roundhouse to the right..There was a tight turn from where the locos are to the bridge to get on it.Sandhouse is visible behind the hacks, still in use by the R&N..

Coxton=LVRR, Croxton=Erie

EVERYTIME I go to write one or the other, I have to think to remember to add or subtract the "R" before I type it!

That's what I meant.......

Cohocton NY: On the DL&W mainline.
Cochecton NY: On the Erie mainline.

There is also Owego and Oswego NY, but I have always known both of them well, so no confusion there..

and dont forget Waverly NY, Waverly PA, and South Waverly PA!
South Waverly PA is directly south of Waverly NY, but South Waverly PA is 100 miles away from Waverly PA, and has no relation to it whatsoever!

Scot - Good points......And I never knew about the South Waverly!

And in keeping things LV-themed, there's always Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe, PA) and Manunka Chunk (Technically the village of Delaware on the DL&W Old Road here in NJ), too........

Also....

1. Rochester, NY- served by the B&O/BR&P, Erie/EL, LV, Pennsy and NYC

vs.

Rochester, PA- served by the Pennsy

2. The Buffalo Creek RR -served the Buffalo, NY waterfront. Jointly owned by LV and Erie/EL.

vs.

The Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR -defunct shortline in West Virginia.

This must've been fun for dispatchers and shipping clerks back in the day!

There is also a Town of Rochester NY (Ulster County) that was on the NYO&W's Kingston branch.

For Coxton/Croxton, I've used this: New Jersey has an 'r', as does Croxton yard. Pennsylvania doesn't have an 'r', neither does Coxton.
