It may make you jolly.

Sorry gentlemen, but that's not it.

Clue 2: I also have a branch and share the road, try your luck south.

TB Diamond is correct, the photo is courtesy of  "Susquehanna & New York Railroad" site and "A nearly panoramic view of the Lehigh Valley’s station in the north end of Towanda is the subject of last week’s “Wordless Wednesday #44”. To the left is SNY engine #119 with converted motor combination car #206. Behind #119 is the old Lehigh Valley stone enginehouse. In the background behind the station is the LV’s mainline coaling tower built ca. 1940, and to the viewer’s right is a Lehigh Valley freight train curving toward the mainline bridge over the Susquehanna River, just out of the frame to the right.
An interesting detail is the (presumed) line of taxis waiting behind the station. This suggests a Lehigh Valley passenger train (perhaps the Black Diamond?) is soon due".

If you have not visited his site I highly recommend it.

Is that your final answer?

Good, because it IS Hazelton!

This comes to us via the ARHS webite (http://www.anthraciterailroads.org/),and the  photographer being a Mr. John Endler......The date is unknown, but this caption follows the photo -

"This view is looking west at the Lehigh Valley through Hazleton, PA. The doodle bug in the foreground is at South Laurel Street. The passenger train in the center of the image is stopped at Church Street in front of the Lehigh Valley station. The last crossing is Vine Street just before Locust Junction. The top right of the photo where all of the cars are is the Pennsylvania Railroad station. The tall building in the top center of the image is the Cranberry Coal Breaker at Cranberry Junction. The tracks going up and curving to the left go to Hazle Junction which heads towards Oneida Junction where the Shepton Branch splits from the main to Delano, PA."

I'm pretty sure of the location, will hold off answering to give others a chance. The interlocking ahead of the hack never had a chance to get "long in the tooth".

Gee, I'd think that this one would be super easy, even for a railroad that traveled in a few valleys and had its fair share of junctions!
