I know it doesn't get said nearly enough, but I want to thank you for constantly scanning and posting all this info here, it is certainly interesting on so many levels. I ESPECIALLY likes the one about the flat car load of wooden beams for the repair of the float bridges, for obvious reasons!

Your writer on board with commendation by RAH... With the particular item here, it most helpful to understand the new Regulation
of Motor Carriers, commencing 1935. In this report, appears LVRR simply wished to have REA run its local area pickup and delivery
services. (action about same as poking a hornet's nest with a stick?)

LVRR may have considered application for grant of ICC operating authority, under the "grandfather" protections. With this report
(noted above), LVRR simply wanted REA to conduct operations on what became exempt movements in "commercial zones"...

A vital point is how touchy the truckers (ATA) about all of it. Whole matter a long time ago, and this more of time line comment...
Added reading? Note A-T-A formed 1933. First President was Ted Rodgers, of Scranton, PA... http://www.trucking.org/About.aspx
