I guess you could tell I like the PA's the best. Here is another shot of Steve's layout. Keith

You really have got to see this and hear the story from Steve as to how he did it. It is really amazing. He must have 100's of hours into the project.

Here is the real coal shed. My back would have been to the station. I am about standing on the main line here.  Keith

You didn't miss your only chance.  Steve said to look him up as the "Wood Doctor" in Trumansburg.  He's pretty anxious to share what he knows and what he's done with the layout.  If you get a copy of the February "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine, you would find more there.

Here's one more view of Gil Mack's Tiger Valley Lines.  He started on it in 1973, when he built his octagon house around it.  His emphasis is more on locomotive models, leaning toward Alco and Baldwin.  I heard the video session ended at 9:30 PM, for lack of contributors.

Signage at Taughannock Falls indicates another segment of the Lehigh Valley is being made into a hiking trail, between the State Park and Ithaca.

While we checked out the trestles that are now part of trails around Taughannock Falls, I noticed a bridge abutment closer to the parking area.  I caught Steve at Gil Mack's before his presentation and asked about it.  He said it may have been a spur to a power station near the creek.

Here are some more pics of the layout, although I don't have a real camera either...I'm surprised my shots came out as good as they did.

This is one end of the Trumansburg diorama, which Steve has integrated into the rest of his layout:

Here's an overview of the station area. Across the tracks from the station is the model of the coal dock that Keith posted a picture of above:

True to its nature, the Black Diamond was moving too fast for me to get it in focus as it approached T-burg:

As if the layout inside the house wasn't enough, Steve also has this railroady decoration outside his house (and yes, the lights work!):

I have one in my back yard too, The lights came off the Lehigh Valley swamp road grade crossing in Victor when they were upgraded. Here is a picture of it. Notice my wife's reaction when she came home and found it put up in the back yard, and it flashes, just like the real thing. She loves it now though.

Sounds like you guys had a good day....thanks for posting pictures, and please them coming!

If you're  still wanting to see more of Steve Peck's incredible work, check out his T-burg project website at the following for more great photos (and/or, if you can still find a copy, check out his cover article with all the background/history on the project in the January 2013 Railroad Model Craftsman magazine):

http://www.miniloco.com/lehigh

mtcg16:  If you're located anywhere around central NY, and really do want to get a look at Steve's layout in person, send me a PM and we can see about setting up a visit some evening when I'm back in NY during early August.  I usually try to arrange to spend an evening with Steve while I'm there.  Steve is a very gracious host, always up for chatting about the LV, and as stated above, he's typically happy to show off the T-burg project to us "serious" (Ha!) LV fans, historians, and modelers.

Here are my pictures from 4/6/13 (forgive my fascination with odd architectural details remnants along the ROW's):

It was good seeing you guys, and glad folks made the journey in from out of town.

Special thanks to Bob for setting things up with Bob Fitzgerald and Steve Peck, not to mention the stops along the way to Trumansburg!

Ken

p.s. anyone up for checking out the Pennsy from Stanley to Phelps, or hiking/biking other rails-to-trails, let's start a new thread or msg me
