Thanks Paul, this must be looking east correct? The signal relay box that is behind the searchlight signal is still there to this day. Were the tracks already gone at this point? Also, I know they left the ones up on 64 for a few years after the tracks were gone(any pictures of those after the Valley stopped running?), although the ones on 251 I never saw. I have a picture in a high school yearbook(197 where you can see the signals and the gates from the cottage hotel, a bar we still hang out at to this day! The stripes on the signal were black, unlike the ones today that are red. Awesome picture!!

Wish I could have been with you guys, guess I will have to go to RJ myself. Anyone get any shots of the 2 new rebuilt wye bridges? It's so great having friends who love the Valley as much as I did and always will!!

Yes, Mark, I shot the new bridges. I'll post the pics here soon. In the meantime, you can see them on my FB page.

Correct, Mark, the Mile Square Road photo is view to the east.

The tracks were still extant but were removed during the summer of 1978.

Mark, you're welcome.

I'll try not to duplicate what has been shown so far.  Bob (kendaia1) and I were intrepid enough to climp up into the cupola of Bernie's LV caboose.  This is the view of the whistle post which was discussed earlier.

Yours truly sitting in the cupola. The ladder was very narrow so it was a challenge to get up there. Thankfully, Scot pulled out a step ladder so I could get down more easily!

There are now signs commemorating the history of the Lehigh Valley Trail.

This sign was reminiscent of the old LV station signs from the RR's heyday.

We also discovered a large lump of coal, which (as Keith demonstrated) was soft.

Ken had discovered alot of former interlocking pieces we hadn't seen last year, like this pulley.

The vegetation hasn't grown much this spring, so Charlie found more pulleys in the brush.

One leg of the wye at Rochester Junction was not a groomed trail when we came through Rochester Junction last year. Now it looks much, much better.

The new bridges on the east leg of the wye were a distinct improvement over the rotting wooden bridges we had to cross last year... and there were no fallen trees to block our way! This was the bridge where we found the old link.

This is most of the Lehigh Valley Walkers who were in the group that day.

(L-R): Bob (Kendaia1), Keith (Darktown2), Jon (rgvrr), Charlie (Charlie6017), Scot (Scottychaos) and Ken (mtcg16).

Photo taken by me Sat 4/14/2012 in the Town of Mendon, NY. Those missing from the pic were Mark (had to leave early) and the guy who took the shot.

I will resume the pictorial tomorrow.
