Yes, view at Quaker Int. is to the west.

I did not post the 30 Nov. 1976 photo but referred to it as reference that the work of removing the LVRR rail had begun by that date.

Never photographed either leg of the wye at Rochester Jct. for the simple fact there was too much brush for a proper photo location.

Never took any photos to the west from track level at the Clover St. overpass.

Correction:

The Lehigh Valley Railroad Company Estate, Robert C. Haldeman, Trustee oversaw the removal of former Lehigh Valley Railroad Company track that was not conveyed to ConRail.

This work was accomplished by contractors hired by the estate.

The track to include all rail, hardware and ties was removed by A&K Track Materials.

This work actually began in late 1976, not in 1978. On 06 December 1976 I photographed A&K removing old No. 2 track between Mendon and Quaker Int. The work of removing the LVRR track in upstate NY did continue through 1978, however.

Thanks for the information. As always, you are a wealth of knowledge.

Correct.

Quaker Int. was the east end of a passing siding the west end of which was Rush Int. located in the village of Rush just east of NY Rt. 15A.

This was established when CTC went into effect between Rush and Manchester at 10:01 on 21 March 1972.

A bit off topic but for those of you who want to hear/see LV211 in action and maybe get a cab ride: (from the RGVRRM emailing)

We've decided to use LV211 and an ESE coach for opening day tomorrow.
I plan on arriving early to vacuum out the coach and wipe down the
seats.  I can use some help!  I should be at the museum by 9am.

We are anticipating a large crowd tomorrow.  We are one of the D&C's
top ten things to do in Rochester this weekend.  We were also featured
by the "Getaway Guy".  Of course, there is the WXXI Dinosaur Train
event going on as well.  I think we will see good attendance, despite
the weather.

We hope to see you there!

Hey guys, hope all is well!

Happened to be in the area of Roch Junction the other day and noticed some activity at the wye.  Much to my surprise both legs were cleared and widened, as well as the ROW quite a ways up the hill.

Got excited when I heard heavy equipment, hoping they were working around the private property that cuts off the trail, but found they were just making a connection to Clover.

Both of the bridges on the East section of the wye were exposed and I was able to climb down and walk under one.  (the other still had water underneath)

Quite a bit of improvement over last spring- wonder if the plan is to apply crushed stone like on the mainline.

Stopped in to Rochester Junction again... wow, we might've had our meet-up a year too early: Not only is the wye all done (crushed stone trail, bridges refurbished) but there is now a LV box car on that section of tracks!!!

Anyone know where it's from?  Manchester?

Ken- that's good news! Maybe we should revisit Rochester Junction this spring. My schedule is a little busier than last year but I think we could have the second annual meet-up in April, if anyone is interested.

Information received related that the car presently at RJ was to be moved on 23 January from Manchester.

Glad to know that it made the trip.
