I have several LV34300 gon builders photos. It'd built by Beth Steel.

One LV modeler used them to make decals in HO scale, promised me a set in O scale, but they never arrived.

Beautiful shots of sides and ends.

Lv34300

Unfortunately the brake end, other end, and 3/4 view shots won't post. They're just too big and I couldn't get them to resize.

Sorry about that. But I'd be happy to send them to anyone who has a desire to see them.

Ray,
In your photo collection would you happen to have a pic of one of the LV's  G26 (PRR) 65' gons? The lettering diagram exists in the ARHS frt car set.
I've never seen a photo of one.

Ferlen,

About your question on old car numbers...

Wood salvaged for your barn apparently came from some very old cars.

LV 46001 – 48000 series cars were 35’ 2”, 1115 cubic foot, 65,000-pound capacity composite coal hoppers cars.  The December, 1929 Official Railway Equipment Register (ORER) indicates fourteen (14) cars were still in service at the time of its publication.

LV 70001 – 72000 series cars were 35’ 6”, 1916 cubic foot, 60,000-pound capacity, wood sheathed boxcars with steel under frames.  According to the December, 1929 ORER nine (9) cars were still in service.

All that said, the salvage wood may be pushing 80-odd years.  Sorry, no info for LV 7376.

Bud, Are these the gons you were asking about.

If so, I posted one picture of LV34300 and I have builders photos of both ends as well as a 3/4 view. Unfortunately they're to large to be posted.

Thank you. My barn was built by the ice man for Glen Summit. He worked at the LV hotel there until they closed it. The barn was used to store the horses in the bottom and the ice wagon on the ground floor. His father was a trainmaster for the LV, and my house has many remnants of the Glen Summit hotel in it as it was built from some of the wood from the demolition. The barn was built about 1923, the house 1925.

Thanks for the info on the LV34000 series.

Thanks also for starting the documentation of LV equipment.

I'll try again to post the other shots of 34000 series cars

Here's LV34000 in a 3/4 view

I have LV34428 Side View, but it needs to be resized which is a pain. So unless requested, I'll omit it.
